Nomber 79 Clothing is a Nigerian based Urban Clothing company that stands to potray the Nigerian Urban Culture through her unique, eclectic and colorful designs. Nomber 79 is striving to export Nigeria's rich culture and art to the international community through fashion. Nomber 79 designs are strongly influenced by Naija Culture, Landscape and Art. I am sure you will all agree with me that Hip Hop has nothing to do with Geographical area or space, but instead a Global phenomenom. The truth is that Hip hop has its roots in Africa. This can be atteted to by the rawness of rhythm and beats.
Rapping in African music and culture is a tradition that was carried to the new world in the 1400s, and now history has come full-circle as African youth are re-creating the culture. In Nigeria today we now see an array of raw talents rapping and singing in their local dialects. A couple of years ago, it was a different story entirely. 90% of music played on radio was foreign, but now there has been a turn around. More like a Revolution. Could be otherwise said to be the The Nigerian Hip Hop revolution.
Some Artiste that have helped in exporting Naija Hip hop includes the likes of 9ice, Lord of Ajasa, mode 9, Igho, M.I, and a host of others.
Hip Hop like Art is an expression, and most of this MC's use their rap as a voice speaking about their struggles, political ills, and generally expressing their state of mind through music.
Nomber 79 is here to help develop and export the Nigerian urban culture and movement.
